How to Transfer Books and other Data from your iPhone to your PC for Free (forever)
/If you need to transfer purchased books from your iPhone or iPad to your PC, perhaps for reading on a Kindle, you’ll know how frustrating it can be. Fortunately, many third party solutions exist to let you do just that, even if your device isn’t jailbroken.
Today we’ll be using popular iPhone data transfer software iMazing. This is very important, because, thanks to an oversight by the developers, we can use the trial version for as long as we like. Just download the software, install it, connect your iPhone to your PC, and off we go. We’re using version 2.14.2, so if this guide doesn’t work on any newer versions, track down and install that one. Find the version you’re using by clicking ‘help’, then ‘about iMazing’.
Part 1
When you open the software for the first time, you’ll be asked to backup your iPhone. Ignore it by clicking ‘Later’. Then click ‘continue trial’ on the next screen. You’ll see these a lot.
Part 2
You’ll next see a start screen with all sorts of kinds of data. This method works for anything you see, but we’ll be using books for this example. Click on the thing you need to get off the phone (eg books), and you’ll be taken to a screen with a list of items. Click and drag whatever you need out of the program into a folder, or the desktop, and agree to the popup (it only comes up once). The program might restart. Just wait a second, and then continue as normal. Note that you can only transfer a certain number of item at once with this method, and that number is different for each type of data. Books are limited to 5.
Once you transfer the maximum number of items, you’ll see that the “x left” number will reach zero. This is normally the part where a normal user would give up and purchase the software.
Part 3
On the main screen, click on ‘edit’ then ‘preferences’. Once there click on ‘reset to factory settings’. This is what makes the magic happen. Once you click that and agree to the pop up message, the software will think it’s a fresh, brand new install, including the ‘number of items transferred’ counter.
Go through the steps in this guide as many times as you want, for unlimited file transfers.
